Cale Belfrage made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Loftis, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it was a classic North v. South duel when Omaha North faced off against Omaha South on Wednesday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Packers. With that win, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Chance Kinman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Omaha North is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 8-9 otherwise. Kinman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Max Bolouvi, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Colin Kinman was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Omaha North hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Omaha South struck out 11 times.
Omaha North now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Tekamah-Herman, their loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Tekamah-Herman has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Omaha North struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
