Baseball Recap: Mahanoy Area Takes a Loss

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, Mahanoy Area was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They came up short against the Southern Columbia Area Tigers, falling 13-2.

Mike Oblas put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. Oblas was also solid in the batter's box, getting no hits from his two at bats.

Mahanoy Area's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Southern Columbia Area, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mahanoy Area will host Nativity BVM at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mahanoy Area is facing Nativity BVM at the right time seeing as Nativity BVM is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Southern Columbia Area, they will be playing at home against Warrior Run at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The contest will give Southern Columbia Area their first taste of in-conference action this season.
