The Fruitland Grizzlies will challenge the Vale Vikings at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Vale will be up against a hot Fruitland squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Fruitland's pitcher stepped up to hand Cole Valley Christian a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Grizzlies, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Landon Bushong tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Quinn Hood was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in doubles. Nate Grosvenor was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Fruitland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cole Valley Christian only posted an OBP of .158.
Meanwhile, Vale had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on Ontario with a sharp 12-2 victory on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Maddox Hartley made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hartley was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-4.
Hartley wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tate Cook, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Fruitland's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Vale, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
