Sydney Root Game Report: vs O'Connor

Xavier College Prep was sadly handed a loss on Wednesday, but Sydney Root did her best to prevent it. Root wasn't messing around, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The pitching appearance was her fourth straight with two or fewer hits.

Even though Root couldn't lead Xavier College Prep over O'Connor, she won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sadly, Root's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Gators' nine-game streak of wins at home. With the streak broken, Root and the Gators surely have a bit of extra motivation heading into Thursday's match.
