Soccer Recap: Central Davidson Has No Trouble Against Parkland

Central Davidson kept a clean sheet against Parkland on Monday. They put the hurt on the Parkland Mustangs with a sharp 7-0 win. Considering the Spartans have won five contests by more than four goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Parkland from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Carrie Street led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

The victory made it two in a row for Central Davidson and bumps their season record up to 6-2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matches. As for Parkland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Davidson will head out to face off against Providence Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Parkland, they will venture away from home to challenge West Forsyth at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Parkland has given up an average of 5.5 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
