Baseball Recap: Faith Baptist Victorious

Faith Baptist got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They came out on top against Bethany Christian by a score of 9-4. The win continues a trend for the Eagle in their matchups with Bethany Christian: they've now won five in a row.

Zach Gartrelle was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Mumford, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Faith Baptist's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Bethany Christian, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Faith Baptist will face off against Immanuel Baptist at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bethany Christian, they will square off against FAITH HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bethany Christian are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
