Volleyball Recap: Half Moon Bay Victorious

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Half Moon Bay walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the King's Academy Knights 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Half Moon Bay who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-23, 22-25, 26-24, 23-25, 18-16.

King's Academy's loss on Saturday came despite strong showings from Shuwen Jin and Michaela Wu. Jin had 33 digs, while Wu had seven digs and two aces. Wu has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

Half Moon Bay's victory bumped their record up to 14-16. As for King's Academy, their loss ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-9.

Coming up, Half Moon Bay will challenge Scotts Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. King's Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
