Baseball Recap: Three Rivers' Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Three Rivers had taken Paw Paw down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Red Wolves by a score of 6-5. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Wolves earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Three Rivers got a good showing from Gabe Young, who kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Tate Rohrer and Louis Smith stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rohrer scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-3, while Smith scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Smith is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Three Rivers' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2. As for Paw Paw, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Three Rivers will venture away from home to take on Coldwater at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Paw Paw, they will take on Williamston in a tournament on Saturday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Red Wolves' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
