Basketball Game Preview: Oswego East Wolves vs. Minooka Indians

The Oswego East Wolves will head out to challenge the Minooka Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Oswego East knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matches -- so hopefully Minooka likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Oswego East was able to grind out a solid win over Joliet West, taking the game 62-52. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Tigers are ranked 426th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Minooka had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Bengals by a score of 48-39.

Oswego East pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Minooka, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season.

Oswego East was able to grind out a solid win over Minooka in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 60-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oswego East since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
