Basketball Recap: Lake Region Takes a Loss

If Lake Region was riding high fresh off their 64-40 takedown of Jefferson on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Thunder came up short against the All Saints' Academy Saints on Monday, falling 62-42. The Thunder were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Saints apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

All Saints' Academy was led to victory by Josh Koch and Landon Gall. Koch dropped a double-double with 19 points and 22 boards, while Gall dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Koch now owns an excellent 46.2% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Aiden Melendez, who posted two points and five rebounds.

Lake Region has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for All Saints' Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Region and Davenport will face off at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. As for All Saints' Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Tenoroc at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
