Basketball Recap: Brody Tolman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mountain View over Owyhee

Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Owyhee Storm, falling 88-62. The Mavericks lost against the Storm in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 84-35 score last time.

Mountain View's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brody Tolman, who went 5 of 8 en route to 15 points. Zach Smith was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 12 points.

Mountain View now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Owyhee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Mountain View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 74-65 loss against Rocky Mountain on the 29th. Owyhee has also already played their next game, a 58-45 win against Ridgevue on the 31st.
