Hernando hit Mitchell with a four-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs fell just short of the Leopards by a score of 8-7. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by just one run.

Jonathon Rodriquez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Mitchell is 3-1 when Rodriquez posts two or more runs, but 7-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brennan Koenig, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Mitchell has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Hernando, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.
