Softball Recap: Christian Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

After losing to Cathedral Catholic the last time they met, Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Patriots came out on top against the Dons by a score of 7-4 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Alyssa McCurty made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Krystek, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

Christian pushed their record up to 22-6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cathedral Catholic, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-11 record.

As of now, neither Christian nor the Dons have any future games scheduled.
