Basketball Recap: Heath Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Heath had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Lakewood Lancers with a sharp 59-37 victory. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Heath's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaxon Duston led the charge by going 5 of 8 on his way to 14 points and three steals. Duston is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Sforza, who went 5 for 8 en route to 11 points and six rebounds.

Heath smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Heath's win bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Lakewood, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heath will host Watkins Memorial at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Heath is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season. As for Lakewood, they will welcome Mt. Vernon at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
