Volleyball Recap: James Island Find Success

James Island saw some tournament action on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Broome Centurions 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

James Island had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-11, 15-13.

Lily Schizas paced James Island's offense, picking up ten kills. Schizas got some help from Natalie McGreorge and her 13 assists. Schizas was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

James Island's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Broome, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

James Island wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Greenwood on the 23rd. As for Broome, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Landrum on the 25th.
