The home team had won the previous four meetings between Leadership Academy and Bethany Community, and Bethany Community kept the tradition alive. The Leadership Academy Falcons fell just short of the Bethany Community Wolves by a score of 11-9 on Friday. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Dillon Ketron was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ketron was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jafet Rodriguez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Clay Smith, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Leadership Academy's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Bethany Community, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Leadership Academy will face off against Cornerstone Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cornerstone Charter's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Leadership Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bethany Community, they will take on Northeast Guilford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
