Baseball Recap: Mitchell Takes a Loss

Mitchell came into this matchup off a tough 12-run defeat on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Orleans Bulldogs by a score of 8-6 on Thursday. Bluejackets fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bulldogs since on Thursday.

Mitchell saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conner Teague, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Another was Branson Yost, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Mitchell and nudges their season record down to 5-7. As for Orleans, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.

Looking ahead, Mitchell will challenge Northeast Dubois at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Orleans, they will face off against Linton-Stockton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
