Volleyball Preview: Summerville Green Wave vs. James Island Trojans

The Summerville Green Wave's homestand will continue as they prepare to take on the James Island Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Two weeks ago, everything went Summerville's way against West Ashley as Summerville made off with a 3-0 victory.

Summerville's not only won, but also showed off some consistency: keeping West Ashley between 15 and 18 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-15.

Meanwhile, James Island waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They had just enough and edged the Vikings out 3-2.

James Island wouldn't go down easily and took Spring Valley into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-23, 23-25, 24-26, 15-13.

Natalie Mcgeorge was nothing short of spectacular: she had 11 digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Rucker, who had 22 digs, a kill, and 20 assists.

James Island was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matchups.

Summerville is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for James Island, they pushed their record up to 12-20-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
