Volleyball Recap: Whiteoak Wildcats vs. Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs

Whiteoak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-11, 25-5.

Lynchburg-Clay got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Avery Shope out in front who had seven aces and five digs. That's the most aces Shope has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Mclaughlin, who had 12 assists and three aces.

Whiteoak's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Lynchburg-Clay, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-5.

Looking ahead, Whiteoak will challenge Williamsburg at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lynchburg-Clay, they will face off against Peebles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
