Basketball Recap: Opp Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

Opp took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 54-28 margin over the Pleasant Home Eagles. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bobcats had established a 20-point advantage.

DJ Hines was nothing short of spectacular: he shot 80% from the field en route to 17 points along with six boards and three steals. Those 80% shooting accuracy gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Savon Barnes, who posted six points in addition to ten assists and five rebounds.

Opp was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasant Home only racked up six.

Despite the loss, Pleasant Home still got an impressive performance from John Luke Colvin, who scored 13 points and six boards.

Pleasant Home's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Opp is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Red Level at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pleasant Home, they will head out to face off against W.S. Neal at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
