Baseball Recap: Egg Harbor Township Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Holy Spirit, Egg Harbor Township was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Millville Thunderbolts, sneaking past 9-7. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Thunderbolts: they've now won three in a row.

Dylan Salsbery made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Salsbery was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Egg Harbor Township is 2-1 when Salsbery posts two or more stolen bases, but 6-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Austin Fisher, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Casey, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Egg Harbor Township's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Millville, they moved to 8-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Egg Harbor Township will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Thunderbolts: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
