Softball Recap: Hackleburg Panthers vs. Belgreen Bulldogs

With a playoff game on the line, Hackleburg rose to the challenge on Monday. They never let the Belgreen Bulldogs onto the board and left with an 8-0 win. Hackleburg might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 15 matches by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Laine Steward, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Belgreen off the board. Steward has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Saylor Cooper and Ellie Nichols did most of the damage at the plate: Cooper went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI, while Nichols got on base in three of her four plate appearances with a home run.
