Mattamuskeet came into Saturday's contest looking for another win against Columbia, but Jayden Sawyer wouldn't allow it. The Columbia Wildcats managed a 59-54 victory over the Mattamuskeet Lakers on Saturday thanks to Sawyer, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten boards. The game was his 15th in a row with at least 16 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jaimarques Whitley, who went 8-for-15 en route to 22 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in field goal percentage (53%).

Columbia is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-16 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points over those games. Mattamuskeet is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
