Baseball Game Preview: North Callaway Thunderbirds vs. California Pintos

North Callaway is on a nine-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while California is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. North Callaway will host California at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

On Thursday, North Callaway got the win against Hallsville by a conclusive 11-2. The Thunderbirds haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Keaton Bell was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Those hits were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Caleb Sheets was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Justice Moore, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, California never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past Cole Camp 11-0. Considering the Pintos have won three matches by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

North Callaway's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for California, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 4-0.

North Callaway took their win against California in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0. Will North Callaway repeat their success, or does California has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
