Baseball Recap: Carroll Victorious

Carroll took an eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Homestead, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Chargers skirted past the Spartans 4-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chargers.

Aiden Stephan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Adler Kellams was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. Carroll is undefeated when Kellams posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-8 otherwise.

Carroll's record now sits at 12-8. As for Homestead, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-7.

Carroll will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
