Recap: Azle Hornets vs. Saginaw Rough Riders
Even though the Azle Hornets have not done well against the Saginaw Rough Riders recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Azle snuck past the Rough Riders with a 42-38 victory. The victory was nothing new for Azle as they're now sitting on three straight.
Several Rough Riders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tatum Stone, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. Jazmine Duncan was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Azle is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-14 record this season. As for Saginaw, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-19.
Azle will take on the Bearcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Aledo presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Hornets in Texas (the Bearcats are ranked 128th, while the Hornets are ranked 478th). As for Saginaw, they will head out on the road to take on the Pirates at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Granbury has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
