Soccer Game Preview: Richards vs. Joliet Central

The Richards Bulldogs will square off against the Joliet Central Steelmen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Richards' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 15 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Richards' offense. They fell 2-0 to Little Village on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Joliet Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 8-0 to Plainfield Central. While losing is never fun, Joliet Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 296th, while Plainfield Central are ranked 49th).

Joliet Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Richards, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.

Richards suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Joliet Central when the teams last played back in March. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
