Soccer Recap: Manteno Falls Short of Coal City in the Playoffs

Manteno and Coal City squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Manteno had to settle for second. They lost 4-0 to the Coalers. While losing is never fun, Manteno can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 346th, while Coal City are ranked 134th).

Manteno has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13-3 record this season. As for Coal City, they pushed their record up to 14-4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Manteno nor the Coalers have any future games scheduled.
