Football Recap: Pickerington Central Extends Winning Streak to Five

Pickerington Central came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Groveport-Madison Cruisers 33-17. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Cruisers are ranked 102nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rocco Williams was his usual excellent self, throwing for 220 yards and two TDs, while also punching in a pair of scores on the ground.

Williams was just one part of a punishing run game: Pickerington Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 221 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 204 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Pickerington Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Groveport-Madison, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-4 record.
