Softball Recap: Watertown Wins Going Away Against Waunakee

Watertown got themselves on the board against Waunakee on Tuesday, but Waunakee never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Warriors. The Goslings haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Cali Craig made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, Breanna Meracle was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elle Stangler, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Watertown's record is now 11-4. As for Waunakee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.

Looking ahead, Watertown will be playing in front of their home fans against DeForest at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Waunakee, they will head out to challenge Janesville Parker at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
