Basketball Game Preview: Saks Wildcats vs. Cherokee County Warriors

Having just played yesterday, the Saks Wildcats will jump right back in to play the Cherokee County Warriors at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Saks comes in on five and Cherokee County on nine.

On Friday, Saks wrapped up 2024 with a 49-30 victory over Etowah. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 306th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything went Cherokee County's way against Sylvania on Friday as Cherokee County made off with a 59-35 win. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 24 points or more this season.

Saks' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Cherokee County, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.
