Basketball Recap: Metter Comes Up Short

Metter was the 60-49 winner over Dodge County when they last played one another back in January of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell 52-42 to the Indians on Saturday. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Indians 13-6 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Metter still got an impressive performance from Elijah Dickerson, who posted 13 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Collins Shuman, who earned four points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Metter's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Dodge County, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Metter and Screven County will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 4:30 p.m. on January 3, 2026. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Gamecocks have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Dodge County, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Jasper County at 1:00 p.m. on the 31st.
