Winnfield skates past Jonesboro-Hodge with ease

In what's become a running theme this season, the Winnfield Tigers gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 76-40 win over Jonesboro-Hodge. Given Winnfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Jonesboro-Hodge is ranked 317th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Decavian Duncan was his usual excellent self, scoring 37 points along with five assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jaylon Jackson, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Winnfield is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Jonesboro-Hodge, they dropped their record down to 4-19 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winnfield will take on Lakeview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lakeview will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Winnfield surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jonesboro-Hodge, they will head out on the road to take on Many at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jonesboro-Hodge is facing Many at the right time seeing as Many is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
