Basketball Recap: Ridgeline Takes a Loss

Ridgeline fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Cheney on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cheney Blackhawks by a score of 67-65. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blackhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Ridgeline still got an impressive performance from Caden Andreas, who went 7-for-16 to rack up 25 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. That was a full 38.5% of Ridgeline's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Allen, who went 6-for-14 on his way to 15 points.

Ridgeline is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points over those games. As for Cheney, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-13.

Ridgeline didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 69-57 defeat against Central Valley on the 7th. As for Cheney, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-57 victory against Shadle Park on the 7th.
