Basketball Recap: Hinckley-Big Rock Find Success

Hinckley-Big Rock proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 21) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Somonauk/Leland Bobcats, sneaking past 55-52. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 58-40 back in December of 2024.

Hinckley-Big Rock has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Somonauk/Leland, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-15.

Hinckley-Big Rock won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Serena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Serena will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Hinckley-Big Rock surely won't give up without a fight. As for Somonauk/Leland, they will head out to face off against Indian Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Somonauk/Leland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
