Softball Game Preview: Fairmont Senior Polar Bears vs. Trinity Christian Warriors

The Fairmont Senior Polar Bears will take on the Trinity Christian Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairmont Senior is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Fairmont Senior is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Preston just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 9-4 to the Knights.

Fairmont Senior saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Talia Olivito, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Olivito has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Kylie Corwin also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Trinity Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 19-1 to Austintown-Fitch.

Fairmont Senior's loss dropped their record down to 9-9-1. As for Trinity Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Fairmont Senior came out on top in a nail-biter against Trinity Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2015, sneaking past 7-6. Will the Polar Bears repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
