Softball Recap: Red Bluff Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Red Bluff barely beat Lassen the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Red Bluff Spartans blew past the Lassen Grizzlies 8-1 on Friday. The Spartans' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Mattison Kwarta made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Camryn Dyke, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Piper Tyler also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Red Bluff was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lassen only posted a batting average of .143.

Red Bluff's record now sits at 4-0. As for Lassen, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Red Bluff has already played their next game, a 9-6 defeat against River Valley on the 8th. As for Lassen, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Yuba City on the 7th.
