Volleyball Game Preview: Victory Christian Academy Knights vs. High Tech Mesa Thunder

The Victory Christian Academy Knights will venture away from home to face off against the High Tech Mesa Thunder at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Victory Christian Academy will head out to face High Tech Mesa after giving up their first home loss of the season on Wednesday. The Knights fell 3-1 to The Cambridge School.

Victory Christian Academy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made The Cambridge School work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 27-29, 29-27, 25-17.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Brad Chier, who had 17 kills, 16 digs, two aces, and one block. He is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had seven or more in each of the last 11 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Esteban Torres, who had ten digs and two aces.

Meanwhile, High Tech Mesa didn't have quite enough to beat Helix back in March and fell 3-2.

High Tech Mesa took Helix into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-17, 25-19, 23-25, 15-12.

High Tech Mesa has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Victory Christian Academy, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 9-6.
