Preview: Reedy Lions vs. Wakeland Wolverines

Reedy is 1-9 against Wakeland since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Reedy Lions will look to defend their home court against the Wakeland Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Reedy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Reedy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took down Frisco 78-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

It was another big night for Rylen Mitro, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Reedy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Mcgrath, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Wakeland pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-56 to The Colony. While losing is never fun, Wakeland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 617th, while The Colony is ranked 38th).

Reedy's victory bumped their record up to 13-17. As for Wakeland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season.

Reedy was able to grind out a solid win over Wakeland in their previous meeting back in January, winning 63-56. Does Reedy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wakeland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
