Basketball Recap: Stall Comes Up Short

Stall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They were outmatched by the West Ashley Wildcats and fell 79-34. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while the Wildcats are ranked 34th).

Despite the loss, Stall still got an impressive performance from Donte Ward, who posted 15 points. Ward is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jamir Sanders, who earned eight points.

Kendell Mack was his usual excellent self, going 5 of 8 to rack up 15 points and four steals for West Ashley. Damani White was another key player, going 5 for 12 en route to 15 points.

Stall's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for West Ashley, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-9.

Looking ahead, Stall will take on Fort Dorchester at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stall is facing Fort Dorchester at the right time seeing as Fort Dorchester is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for West Ashley, they will welcome Summerville at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Ashley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.2 points per game this season.
