Basketball Recap: Whitley County Takes a Loss

Whitley County lost against Clay County back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Whitley County Colonels had to suffer through a 80-53 loss at the hands of the Clay County Tigers. The matchup marked the Colonels' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Whitley County and nudges their season record down to 5-2. As for Clay County, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Whitley County will be taking part in a tournament against Clayton-Bradley Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Whitley County is facing Clayton-Bradley Academy at the right time seeing as Clayton-Bradley Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Clay County, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pineville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Pineville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
