Basketball Game Preview: Johnson City Wildcats vs. Binghamton Patriots

The Johnson City Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Binghamton Patriots at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Johnson City will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Johnson City was fully in charge, breezing past Ithaca 63-24. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Little Red are ranked 523rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Binghamton had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They walked away with a 56-47 victory over the Blue Raiders.

Binghamton has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Johnson City, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Johnson City came out on top in a nail-biter against Binghamton in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 50-47. Will Johnson City repeat their success, or does Binghamton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
