Mount Anthony came tearing into Monday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Champlain Valley Union Redhawks 7-1. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jonathan Crossman was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Talin Bartholdi was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Mount Anthony's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Champlain Valley Union, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5.

Coming up, Mount Anthony will be playing at home against Colchester at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 1.9, the Lakers 0.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Champlain Valley Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
