Soccer Game Preview: Boyd Anderson vs. Monarch

The Boyd Anderson Cobras and the Monarch Knights will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Boyd Anderson will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Boyd Anderson's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against McArthur, sneaking past 1-0. Given the Cobras' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Mustangs are ranked 527th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Boyd Anderson's one-goal win came courtesy of Maurice Bras, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monarch). Everything went their way against Miramar on Wednesday as Monarch made off with a 5-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Knights needed considering they were shutout in their previous match.

Boyd Anderson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-1-3 record this season. As for Monarch, their win bumped their record up to 4-10-2.
