Softball Recap: Fort Frye Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against River, Fort Frye was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Warren Warriors a 6-0 shutout. The Cadets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Elle Casto's shutout, as she gave up just seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Taylor Hendershot, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

Fort Frye now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Warren, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Fort Frye will head out to square off against Frontier at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 0.6 runs per game this season, so the Cadets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Warren, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Belpre at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
