Baseball Recap: Rowan County Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Rowan County waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Wolfe County Wolves. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Wolves back in April, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Grant Rose spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Rowan County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Richardson, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Rowan County pushed their record up to 21-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Wolfe County, their loss dropped their record down to 18-10.

Rowan County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wolfe County, they will welcome Lee County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
