Baseball Recap: Colfax Wins Going Away Against Chowchilla

There's no place like home for Colfax, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Chowchilla Tribe 11-5 on Saturday. That looming 11-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Falcons yet this season.

Garrett Lewis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Austin Liden, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Liden is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stole at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Cody Tonini, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one triple.

Colfax's record now sits at 3-1-1. As for Chowchilla, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Colfax will have a chance to go back-to-back against Chowchilla: the pair will be back at it again later today.
