Volleyball Recap: Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] Takes a Loss

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] was the 3-0 winner over O'Neill when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bobcats fell 3-1 to the Eagles on Tuesday. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-16, 25-22, 26-24.

Kanyon Allemang paced Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]'s offense, picking up seven kills. Allemang really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 14. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kaylee Thiele, each putting up two.

Leading O'Neill to victory were Hailey Fick and Serena Chavez. Fick had 11 digs and one assist, while Chavez had 11 digs. Those 11 digs gave Fick a new career-high.

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]'s defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for O'Neill, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Neligh-Oakdale on the 9th. As for O'Neill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Pierce on the 9th.
