Softball Game Preview: Lourdes Eagles vs. Lake City Tigers

Lourdes has gone 7-1 against Lake City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lourdes' offense. They lost 8-0 to Stewartville on Tuesday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Lake City suffered their closest loss since April 30, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Cannon Falls by a score of 8-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Bombers: they've now lost five in a row.

Lourdes dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lake City, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Lourdes beat Lake City 4-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
