Recap: Junction City Bluejays vs. Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles

The Junction City Bluejays put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 55-51 W over Bishop Carroll. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Junction City has scored all year.

Bishop Carroll's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braxton Martin, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Martin pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was John Hauserman, who scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals.

Even though they lost, Bishop Carroll were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Junction City pushed their record up to 6-0 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Bishop Carroll, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Junction City will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Washburn Rural at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Washburn Rural is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Bishop Carroll is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Kapaun Mt. Carmel at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. One thing working in Kapaun Mt. Carmel's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
